Tiger Barb Nipped Fins

Hi,

Tank recently cycled so a week ago I added 5 tiger barbs to my existing stock of 5 serpae tetras, noticed a tiger barb hiding in a plant today and could see half his tail missing and evidence of damage on his other fins, should i remove him from the tank? He did come out to feed when I put food in and other than the fin damage it looks fine, I have another small tank which has never been used, its only 12 litres with a small air sponge filter in which I could put it do you think this might be an idea till his fins grow back? Thanks in advance

I would put him in his own tank for a a few weeks until the fins grow back. Should only take a week or 2. Also, do 20% water changes every other day
