Just set up a 55g Coldwater tank for some goldfish. Clear bottom just some bogwood and plants going in soon.
Originally set up using a Fluval U4 but it was always cloudy and the fish didn't like the the flow and maintenance on the U4 altho not hard was awkward. I came across a Tidal 55 on marketplace for £15, I read and watched some reviews on the filter and as it was just 10 mins down the road I thought I'd give it a try.
When I collected it was brand new in the box, bargain for £15!
Set it all up all up, put in the media and sponges from the U4 and so far I'm impressed. I moved it's position from far left corner to the far right (the skimmer part of the filter wasn't keeping he surface clean, I thought many because the skimmer was in the corner against the side of the tank and the outlet flow) so moved it so the flow was against the side and the skimmer was inner
most. I also added a small sponge filter from an old breeder tank in the opposite corner and I've never had such clear water!
