Sometimes I look in my aquarium my Ruby shark looks black or dark gray but then I'll look later and she'll look silver...is it just the lights or is she changing colors or is it like a beta who get brighter depending on their temperment.
Help pretty please.

I read that females are plumber than males and males anal fin has a little black on it. At least I think it is the the anal fin. I have mine with 4 ghost shrimp 3 fish i'm not exactly sure what they are ( Phantom tetras I was told but they don't look like any picture I've seen so far ) and 3 snails. She doesn't like anyone in my tank.

Oh that is an awful story and entirely my fault. I got the male cause I wanted tank mates for my tiger barbs. So I went looking for a red tailed shark. I went to the pet box here and because everything is written in kanji I have to ID fish by what they look like. Brought the fish looked at some pictures and realized I didn't have a red tailed shark. So I thought I had a red finned botia loach and so I went back to the pet box and brought more...well I notice that one supposed loach wouldn't let the others come to the bottom of the tank. I looked at some more articles and realized I had 3 red finned shark when I should only have one. I only have one tank. Bought time I found someone to take one of them they both were dead. The female was just more aggressive then the two, from what i noticed, mild tempered males.

 Ya she chases everything I wonder if she is stressing everyone else out though. I read they don't bite but just butt the other fish. I guess that isn't too bad. Anyway the unknown fish are holding up a lot better then my barbs...

Ya aparently I but my fish in too early. I waited 2 weeks and then but some tiger barbs then my 3 snails 3 unknown fish then all those ruby sharks and then some shrimp. The tiger barbs didn't survive my mistake sadly and one shrimp died mysteriously but everyone else is hanging tough. So i'm doing a fish in cycle. I do a 20% water change a week and I don't even own a test kit yet. Hubby who is the bread winner right now didn't for see that fish would need so much and I would want so much when he got me this tank for my birthday

my partner got our 5ft cleair tank for my birthday last september its really demanding at first but once your used to it it becomes easy..we have test kits and were doing it all properly but where we were both so tired him working 16hr shifts and our always sick baby plus ywo other children we ended up not testing as much and if we saw sick fish just fixed it like made it better. we put our fish in to early in our first ever tank and THEY ALL DIED
