I very new to fish keeping and I'm trying to achieve a Planted tank.

I have an osaka 260 ltr open top
2xT5v bulbs
co2 kit
nature soil substrate
fluval 305

I cycled the tank by using plants, wood and a bit of subsrtate from an exciting tank.

I have started to get brown algea on the plants which I think is stopping them growing as quickly as I would like but apart from the bushy one I have in the middle which is reaching for the sky.

I have 5 cherry red shrimp which are a little shy but if I sit for long enough they will appear.
Three snails newly added to help out with the algea.
10 neon tetras
6 zebra danio

amoina is now zero
nitrite is now at zero
nitrate gets up to 50 then I do a 20% water change which happens to be 1-2 times weekly.

It would be great to get some feed back and advise.
any comments on thelayout would be useful.
I'd like to hear about good plants for begeinners.
Also if I have enough lighting.
In a month or so, what should be my next fish?

Thanks everyone
Joanna

^^^^^^^^^^

Gorgeous branching wood you have there. What is it and where did you get it? It's perfect.

The wood is from aqua essentials, it's redmoor wood. you can view each indiviual piece that you know what your buying so it was easy to choice a piece.

And the wood in the background is bamboo with java fern.
