so i was Petco today (i am never spending another cent there after today) and i saw the same betta in a tank with mollies that had been in there a while, took a closer look at him and noticed he was a bit beat up. shook my head, talk to mom and she said not right now. i looked around and saw in a rather large tank a betta. in with gouramis. that was the last straw. we then went to another petstore (pet supplies plus) and looked around, found a tank on sale, then went to RMS (yes it was fish store day :hyper: ) to look at more pygmy cories (interesting story with mine). at pet supplies plus, we found a small tank on sale we figured we'd get and snitch one of those guys up to keep in temporarliy. at RMS we got another smallish tank (i'd like a bit bigger but for now mom insisited this would work for now). we went back to petco and i complaned, bringing the two in the "shared" tanks and then i saw maverick (i named him when i was looking at iceman - before ice came home) was still there and he came home, too. so, here they are, Maverick, Goose and Chris. Maverick and Goose are also from Top Gun :good: while Chris is from my favorite movie Real Genius. So, here they are!

My goodness - you're on a roll! You'll soon have a betta museum! :hyper:

They are beautiful! They're lucky you came to rescue them!

i have like no room left in my room.
maverick still needs a tank, he's in the breeding trap in my 10g temporarily

thanks, i do say they were a good find, for being "rescued". they weren't too badly beaten up, i just wanted to grab them before they were.

hmmm....i'm going to try to get better pics tomorrow. :good: as maverick's like 10 times brighter than the pictures make him out to be. chris and goose's pics show their colors pretty good, chris is a bit darker, but their poses arent good. maverick's are the opposite

edit: spelling.

Maverick is really handsome in my opinion! You have so many beautiful bettas there! You like creating your won rescue....very cool :good: :good:

:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

maverick's adorable. he knows he looks good, too. he's so funny, a much more vibrant red than the pictures make him out to be.

thanks! i'd love to get a group together around here to rescue them but not many people here are in to fish.

i would but i promised my parents no more boys for a while

i have absolutley no space left in my room, unfortunatly

haha maverick seems to be the favorite. he's so tiny! so full of ego though. it's so funny.
chris is a hyperactive little thing. after being in with those gouramis though...
goose is a little shy, but at the moment, he's next to pacific so that could be causing some problems.

When I go to the petstore this weekend I think I am going to get a blue VT because that is what my first bettas color. I think I am going to name it Royal or Gilligan.lol

haha. my mom pointed out i should name goose...well goose because i had ice and slider and now i had a maverick, so i needed a goose. she also really liked goose last time she was there (when she got ice for me) so i figured she could name him.

i hope they're happy

and the guy that i made get the fish was like the second highest person in the store or whatever. in the "fun tank" to get fish out of, it had a ton of wood in it and it was huge, so really deep. he was rolling up his sleeve like "ick" and had to chase chris around it. then he said (after telling me they weren't fighting because they just came in - what, were they going to let them "establish territories" and then fight? ) "i know why they arent fighting, this tanks huge." when chris spent his entire time hiding behind the wood. in that tank they had rubber bands holding plants onto the wood. hello, rubber bands rot and then the fish eat them and die. stupid people. then he goes (after chris spent five minutes avoiding his net  ) "they're alot smarter than people give them credit for"
