Hi! I just got three new baby angels today. One white(gost?)and two koi's. they're about quarter size, and very cute! i do have one question. is standard tropical flake fish food ok for them or do they need cichlid food? i'm also getting four panda corys in three or four weeks, but after that i'm not planing on adding anything else to the tank. what are the chances i'll end up with a pair? i was just wondering! thanks!

Flake food should be okay, but it is better to feed a variety of foods just to make sure the fish get a balanced diet.

With 3 Angelfish, a pair won't be extremely likely, sorry I do not got a percentile for you...

I have 5 angels and i feed mine on tropical flake , bloodworm , river shrimp , tubifex and they also nibble at cucumber and algae wafers. So they will pretty much eat most things mine do.

a pair isn't that important, i was just wondering. could i have a blue lobster with the angels and future corys? they're so cool looking, but i'm wondering about those claws/pinchers. the babies are hidding out in the back of the tank at the moment; when can i expect them to come out? i got them/put them in at about 1:30pm today. thanks again for the help!

Happy to see more and more people enjoying the beauty of the angel fish... I have 4 myself would have loved to find a koi angel but there were not many around when i was stocking my tank. Anyhow i feed mine both flake food, frozen blood worms, and frozen brine shrimp and they love all of them. Maybe the just love to eat but ya about the lobster i dont know alot about them, but i would suggest not getting one while your angels are small if ever. I have seen poeple get them with other fish just to have the lobster constantly hunt and kill all there fish inspite of the lps store employee tell them the fish would be ok as they were fast fish. I advised them against it as i am to you. But ultimately it is your tank and your choice.

Good luck with the new angels :D

With 3 angels you have a 75% chance of getting a pair. The diets already mentioned are good, I would tend to go a little easy on the bloodworms, I've found these tend to cause constipation when overfed. My angels get bloodworms once weekly, and also get fasted for one day weekly. Fasing helps to clear out the digestive system, avoiding constipation.

A lobster is not going to work with angels, they will become lobster food. It may take a few days for them to get acclimated to their new situation, keeping the tank lights off and lighting with room light for a couple of days often helps.
