My java moss has developed a lot of thread algae amongst it which is rather unsightly i must admit.

I've attempted the old toothbrush trick but its so well established that the java moss just comes away from the rock with it.

so instead of repeatedly treating the problem, can anyone offer any advice on how to get to the bottom of it to stop it growing full stop?

Here's a pic, i might be wrong, it might not even be thread algae.

hi
what about getting more snails like Malaysian Trumpet Snail or Great Ramshorn Snail I have does in my tank and no algae at all I hope I help

or you can get a plec for a while lol

good luck

Will spot dosing with Easy Cardon/liquid carbon affect this species of algae?

If so you could do that. Turn off any filters/powerheads and pippet some EC directly into the area and leave for a while (20-30mins). Rinse... repeat...
