I have one lone cardinal tetra left in my South American tetra tank, it came here as a jumbo, with a group of 8 or 10 quite a while ago, and it's the last remaining cardinal... it has lots of other tetra friends to hang with...
I didn't see it for a couple days, and was disappointed, but being a jumbo, I have no idea of it's age... I see it again this morning... they are amazing fish, even more so, when they get big...
I'll definitely be adding another group, after I move the angel fish from this tank, and make this tank a dedicated tetra tank... ( the angel just can't help itself around young cardinals, not sure if they are just too small, or the neon colors, but it shamelessly hunts small cardinals ) in the mean time, I'm enjoying my last jumbo cardinal...

The Orcs have killed all my companions. I am alone with strangers who don't speak my language - random creatures from other species. I think I hear the drums, from deep in the bowels of the old mine. They are coming. They are coming for me. I don't know if I can hold out. I will hide, said the lone cardinal.

Well, in a big tank, this combo should be fine. But yes, angels can be hunting those smaller ones... Well, time to get some new ones soon...☺️
