ive just been and got a digital one , 4.99 , it gives me an exact reading of the tank water temp, not the glass , like those stick on ones , also my water was 23.9c

when the stick on one said 28c

good job then i got one, ive turned my 300 w heater to MAX , just to get back to where i *thought* i was with the temp

Yep those stick on ones are notorious for being unreliable,i use glass ones inside the tank.

I use stick on I have two (one on each tank as the water flows betweenthe two tanks) and the themostat on the heater. I tell more by fish character whether the temp is suitable or not, also the community tank is always 1-2C higher then the the guppy tank due to the heater being in the community tank and needing to pump the warmer water over to the other tank and back again so their is a reasonable temperature change across the tanks.

ill be adding a glass one too, in the tank , right now ive got the digital one on the wall next to the tank...........but yes salty you are right , my fish are a lot more active now , and its currently @ 25.9 and rising )
