Top left Tank size 30gallon says a red tailed shark in the community???

I took him out of my main tank into a separate tank below because I read they can be aggressive,
and was blaming him for my tetra death.

My new tank redesign

Only have 3 tetras and a zebra danio atm,
he/she is so funny,
Decided to school with the tetras and now I'm starting to think I won't need a Bottom feeder,
He/She cleans the gravel even tho supposed to be a top feeder....

wow, they recomended a RTS AND TWO Bala Sharks - plus assorted other tetras and barbs in a 30 gallon?!
Isn't that a *bit* overstocked???

Haha, they recommended 3 bala sharks for a 20g. That's not just a little bit cramped or anything... xP

Their stocking lists seem a bit confused. For instance, I think the 30g and 50g ones should be switched - and they have iridescent sharks in small tanks, mollies (which should be brackish), several schooling fish in just pairs, etc etc etc. I wouldn't really trust the site.

I loved my redtail dearly, but then he decided that he was going to take on the angelfish and blind 3 of them. =/ If I ever have a suitable tank for him, I'll definitely get one again, but until then...nope, not community fish, especially not with smaller ones like tetras. \
RTS are definitely not top feeders, haha. Mine was a greedy bum and fed from the top frequently, flipping himself upside down... but that's cause they're greedy, not designed to eat like that. Haha. I'd suggest a few more danios, and make cory cats/khuli loaches if you really want something at the bottom that is community friendly.

For your own tank, you need to up the numbers to around six of each; Neons in particular need the security of a group of at least six.

yip that site is all messed up their stocking guidelines are well wrong

I might still be new to this hobby but from all the reading I've been doing and all the advice I have been given even I can see that some of those lists are quite...insane!

a zebra danio atm,
the ZD is most likely the killer of your tetra.
if you don't make the school up to at least 5 soon, you will end up with one single danio.

That's pretty common among fish sites. Most have terribly outdated information on them as do most of the fish books you will find.

geez reccomends 1 pleco and 2 bala sharks along with 8 other fish for a 25 gallon  I pity the fool who listens to this site.
