This Makes Me Sick

i agree, it's unlikely a single animal on that site died of natural causes. Most of them were probably purchased off farms that raise them for profit selling to pet stores, science labs, food production, and the like.

Well, on the tiger barbs it stated they were farmed in Vietnam I believe. I don't have a problem with taxidermy per se, my problem is killing animals JUST for decoration. At least with cows everything is used, down to their internal organs. You don't see any place marketing freeze dried cows as living room furniture.

mr.dark-saint: you wouldn't kill your lung-fish just to freeze it would you?

I agree, most of what turns us off is our western attitude of what is right and wrong, and that we look at most animals as pets rather than workers or food. And yes, I'm sure they have the proper licenses to sell those.

It's still wrong though. :D

Disgusting. I happen to know that the seahorses are dried by leaving them out in the sun while they are alive. I dont even want to know about the rest of the animals, but im sure alot of is worse  :-( .

im alright with taxadermitry or however ya spell it as i know a mate whos a farmer and get these things stuffed for the house which look pritty cool ,but im geuss these wont of died of natural causes as that would be a lot of time wasted they will buy them in bulk and kill them but hey people who eat pork beef chicken they are treated just as bad they mass slaughter but its not in your face as it is with those ones.

I don't know how those animals are killed, but it's probably no worse than what is done to cows, pigs, chickens, lambs and veals every day for meat consumption.

Because we keep them as pets dosen't mean that it's more cruel to kill them like that.

But I do agree that killing them for decoration is pointless, like killing a lion or a bear to put it in your living room.

Just my 2 cents.
