Universe expected to decay in 10⁷⁸ years, much sooner than previously thought

The universe is decaying much faster than thought. This is shown by calculations of three Dutch scientists on the so-called Hawking radiation. They calculate that the last stellar remnants take about 1078 years to perish. That is much shorter than the previously postulated 101100 years.

However, I'm not too worried about the universe ending in 1 followed by 78 zeros years instead of 1 followed by 1100 zeros years. I won't be around and I doubt the human race will be. I don't even know what to call the number 1000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Put into somewhat of a number it's clearer. All those people thirsting for the total destruction of the world that we come from are going to be high and dry for a while. Ragnarok's on hold!
