I have just taken this photo of a huge rat hanging on my peanut feeder. Yuk  Just off to the ironmongers now to get a rat trap.

awwwww thats cute! dont get a rat trap thats mean :( he's just eating

lol..

That strikes me as kinda weird.. you leave food out for animals, but only certain animals can have it? .. haha..

get a cat to scare it away... dont kill the poor thing... lol

We have squirrels come and eat from our bird feeders

Why kill it? There are millions more that will take its place, you are never more than a couple of feet from a rat.

Did I say I was going to kill it????????? I said I was going to get a trap!!!! Perhaps I should have elaborated and said "a humane trap"!!!!?????

I am a vegetarian, who amongst owning 3 fish tanks, also has 2 Guinea Pigs, a Rabbit and a Hamster!!!

I will be catching it in a cage and driving it a few miles away to release it. I have 2 small children, so do not want my garden overrun with rats!

Hope that clears things up!

don't bother, for every rat you see there's probably another 100 a few feet around you, if you don't want rats in your garden, don't give them food

As i said before, you are never more than a couple of feet from a rat, if you feed birds you will attract vermin.

Its true. My neighbour didnt see any vermin until she started feeding the birds, now theres mice everywhere. And we have at least one that ive heard in our garage.

I think it's kinda neat on there.

We had a nut feeder out and the squirrels use to get on it, so I leaned out of the upstairs window and hung it on a nail outside our room so we could watch them from there instead, but one morning we heard this sort of shuffling noise, opened the curtains and the squirrel was hanging outside our window. He'd come up the tree round the back, across the roof and down on to the nuts. Gotta give em credit for being creative.

We never minded him eating, it's just that he use to bite holes in it and then the birds couldn't have any. We eventually found a china and metal one he could use but couldn't break.

Awwww! What a cute rat! Looks like a fancy rat actually! I really can not (and will not) ever understand why people think rats are discusting? Stupid media and movies portray them horribly

Can I just ask, what do you feed peanuts too?

We dont have anything you feed them to in Australia like that.
