I don't get why people think they need a live fish in such settings. What's the point? Why not use the little plastic fish ( like they use in the aquarium lamp things you can buy at Wal Mart ). They would look just as good (or better , IMO) and nothing would have to suffer.

OH YES! what a wonderful idea putting a living creature in with two sharp blades...why didn't I think of something that clever. It is disgusting but iset ups like that happen so often...especially the dreaded betta in a vase.... how convienient now you can have a pet that you do not have to care for...some people just do not look at fish as being living creatures. So many times I have been talking to someone and they have said....but it is just a fish and fish are stupid.... yeah well cats and dogs are not brilliant and I happen to think that my fish can be quite clever! When will people get the idea that fish are not ornaments.

Okay the betta vase is way better than half the betta hexes out there It has a live plant to remove nitrates and those things hold like a gallon of water. The tetra thing is definitly cruelty and the sword tail thing is not fesable no one would pay so much for such a small tank, Blame the graphic designers out there. And as long as the blades arent in motion its not a problem, No flowing fins to get caught and they are a bit out of the way.

id like to see the people practicing these kind of things to be put in the fishes place but i dont think they make a blender big enough. my fish are extremely intelligent i have some that will eat the frozen krill out of my hand.

I have to admit, the idea for the blender is funny for a photoshopped picture, not funny in practice though.

oh boy, where to start....

firstly a betta VASE is not a good thing
sure it is better then some set ups, but the biggest problem is the tangles roots, which bettas have been known for getting caught in and drowning
and the lack of air
there is very little room for a gulp of air between roots, and the plant is blocking most air circulation in the vase due to such small opening at the top
and just so you know that vase is barely half a gallon

another thing,
although i don't think that the blender thing is real,
it is a VERY daft idea indeed
even though the blades are not in motion it is a myth that they are harmless
there are alot of fish species well known for "sleeping" when the lights go out or rather resting on the bottom
swords are one of these species
the poor guy would suffer numerous scrapes and missing scales from rubbing against the blades to rest, or even to satisfy an itch, resulting in disease and infections
anyone who has had a jagged plastic plant in their tanks knows what i am talking about
it is bettas who are known for this but beleive me, swords can and will be just as easily harmed

i agree that we should all take a deep breath,
but their reasons for outrage are just

Thats cruel. You know fish are smarter than some people I know. Someone hit it right on the head though. Some people think of all pets as just dumb animals. I hate to break it to them but people are dumb animals too., and the fact that some think theyre better than everyone and everything just makes them more dangerous than any Lion or Bear. Anyway, Im done ranting.

Ok im going to tell you the truth, Thos swords are there to be tested, There going to test, How fast can a fish die, In a blade of a blender, Two goldfish and a guppy were killed in the process, The company make this to let people see how fats it could kill.
