My plants have been driving me crazy lately. I had them growing really well after I upgraded my lights, now they are back to looking bad again :/ . I am confused on how I figure out what kinds of fertilizers I need? and about how long will they last for dosing a 20 gal tank?

Many thanks,
Mikaila31

AS of now I am using rot tabs and dosing flourish excel twice a week. I am also going to start dosing flourish excel. These are working fine for me and the dosing instructions are on the bottle. Also if you do not have co2 and your lights are high then that could be a major problem.

I have 2.75 wpg, plants at the moment are H. polysperma, Cabomba, java moss, a crypt, some floating plant, and dwarf hairgrass. I have pressurized co2 and I keep changing my diffusers so I'm not sure on my CO2 reading. I have a red sea vortex diffuser and a glass ceramic one, I hate both of them. I dose flourish, flourish iron, kent K, kent phos+, and some type of nitrogen fertilizer.

This is what the tank looked like a couple of months ago. I really liked it like this, but I wanted more swimming room and a dwarf hairgrass carpet, so I trimmed everything and got rid of some plants  .

This is what it looks like now. The plants grow, but they seem very slow.

also the H. polysperma sends out spouts on basically every pair of leaves, is there any way to stop this?
