Thinking About My Lighting

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, since I haven't put my fish in my tank yet, what kind of time should I have my light on in the tank? Or for how long? 12 hours a day? I'm assuming that's 12 continuous hours? Just wondering what you guys do

i would recomend that light is on around daylight hours but with a little to suit yourself so that you get to enjoy your fish in the lite tank.

It depends a little bit whether you'll be having real plants or not. If you are, you need 8-10 hours of light. If not you can just have the lights on when you're there to be looking at it; too much light just causes too much algae growth.

You don't need lights at all while your cycling though.
