well I am finally gettign around to caring for my 29 gallon planted. Yesterday I added 3 black skirt tetras in with 5 high-fin pepper cories. I plan to add another cory (one died during the move to the smaller tank) and 6 more BSTs. I then plan to add 3 ottos and a trio of pearl gouramis.

anyway, after all that I plan to get guppies.. I love their fins! any chance I have room for them? will they go after any of the other fish mentioned? if not there is always rummy nose tetras, their fines are equally pleasing.

So you will have 9 black skirt tetras, 6 corys, 3 ottos and 3 pearl gourmais. Well, BST's fin nip, so if you added guppies they probs wouldent have any tails left for you to admire. Why not have another 3 BST so you have 6 and 6 rummy nosed tetras.

Rummies die to easily -_- then again the 29 gallon does not spike when I add new fish.. online my huge 72 gallon does.. How annoying.. In truth I wanted rummy nose tetras in they 72 gallons.. but it gets a massive spike even when I add one tetra.. so I have not added anything at all except several black neon’s (who cope with spikes a bit better).

If BSTs fin nip would not pearl gouramis be picked on a lot?

Ugh.. I so want a Rummy nose school but that tank does not cooperate.. could I add bio-spira when adding them to stop spikes?

Pearl gorumais are ok coz they get quite big, guppies are tiny its their tails that make them look a bit bigger. As for rummys, i dont think they are that sensitive, could you try like a school of 6.
