I know of a family that has a 5-year-old (they've had it for this long) Electric Yellow African Chiclid that's in need of a good home...actually, I sort of volunteered to take it. At first it seemed like it was going to be no big deal; they were going to give me the tank, filter, fish, and catfish all for free; but then later they told me that I would need to get a new tank and filter. So right now I don't know if I have the funds as well as the time to take care of a 10 gallon tank...those suckers get heavy when they're full of water! I also just spent a good amount of money on my new Betta and her tank and what-not. But I keep thinking and thinking about this Chiclid! I just don't know anything about them! I've had Bettas pretty much my whole life! Suggestions/comments/advice/tips/etc. anyone?

It will need bigger than a 10 gallon, I'm afraid. Is it just that one? If so a 30 or 36" tank may be fine. If there's more then I'd think there would be to much aggression for even this small of a tank.

I'd say if you're hesitant then that means something, otherwise you wouldn't be so hesitant.

:)

I am pretty sure this fish has been in a 10 gallon tank it's whole life...this sounds kind of bad, but the owners have been wanting it to...well...kick the can...
