Regarding this.... http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=103723 Appart from a femaile fighter and the red tailed shark, the others are looking miles better!!!! something crossed my mind last night, at the start of the problem i thought it was white spot, so added the treatment for it. The next day i realised it wasnt white spot and added the treatment for velvet/slime.... now did they cancel each other out? Last night i did a 50% water change and added the treatment again.... all seem better today!!!! But they seem to be gasping for air. What could be causing this?

Before you added the other med did you do a water change and add some black carbon to remove the whitespot med.

Also are you running an airstone as meds take the 02 out of the water, can you also post water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.

No i didnt change the water after adding the white spot med i just put the med for the slime/velvet in the next day. Think thats were i went wrong!!! Anyway ive dona 50% water change and put some fresh med in and things seem to be getting better.... there is no carbon filter in and the air stone is now running as it wasnt at the time! Got one femaile fighter and a red tailed shark that dont seem to be getting better infact they are gettin worst. Before thewater cahange the ph was 7.0, ammonia 0ppm, nitrite oppm and nitrate 10.

No but they are going up from time to time. Do you recommened changing some of the water? Also to my surprisement.... just looking in the filter system and found some baby platies swimming about!!!!!! Cought 4 so far and i know there is another in there but ist a bit tricky to catch.

Parasites meds have the same ingredients, with not doing a water change and running carbon you could have overdosed the fish, plus you are reducing the 02 in the water, check water stats if ok dilute the meds.
