I have posted pics of this tank in the past (last time must have been around 6-8 months ago).....

..just thought I would post an updated one.

....and yes...I still need to play around with the camera.

kitchen_tank-1.jpg

Current stocking:

1 x Angel

1 x Synodontis Eupterus

10 x Bleeding Heart Tetras

2 x Harlequins

5 x Neon Tetras

9 x Mollies

2 x Silver Tipped Tetra

2 x Bristlenose (breeding pair)

5 x Bronze Cories

1 x Apple Snail

1 x Zebra Loach (who hasn't bothered the Apple Snail)

Edit:....sorry, forgot to say...tank is 5ft long, 2 ft high and 6.5 inches front to back!

Cool but i dont think its a good place to put it. The sun might cause the water to over-heat or in the winter it might get too cold.

Fair comment.....that's what most people say when they first see a pic.

However....there is a conservatory on the back of the kitchen, so this tank is between the kitchen and conservatory.

The conservatory has shades on the roof....so little direct sunlight gets to the tank...

..we have put a black backing on the tank though from the top right corner to the bottom left....which has eliminated an early algae problem.

looking nice Mark :good:
I find the background an interesting idea

Thanks Paul......the crap pics really don't do the tank justice....it really is a "talking point"....with every guest we have being impressed and interested. I think it helps that the fish are up at eye level, so you can really get a good view of what they are up to.

...during my "convict" phase.....

careful there. neons are angel food :shifty:

Haha...yes....but I am of the view that this Angel has grown from a Baby with Neons....the neons are all a couple of years old and slightly larger than the Angels mouth....

....so shhhh...don't tell him they might be tasty.... :good:

:good: Wow! I love it. Very interesting and unique idea. First time I've seen a tank set up that way.[/b]

Don't just asume that the angel will eat the neons just because they are there natural prey. If they are bigger than the angels mouth then they won't go eat them. I always buy jumbo neons anyway so I never have a problem.

Nice tank btw :good:

I remember when I had 2 angels in a tank with neons many years ago, I wondered why the numbers of neons were decreasing on a regular basis.

It was not until the day I looked in the tank to see one of my Angels swimming about with half a neon sticking out of its mouth.

And it looked at me as if to say " what"

Very interesting! Where do you have your equipment, as I am not seeing anything in the picture?
I can see it, heater and intake to an eheim external on the far right :p . It's pretty discrete though.

Great tank! Though I'm not sure if I'd put and angel in something with that little turning room, I'm sure you'd move him if he grew too big, it doesn't happen fast anyway.
