They're Eating The Cory's Food?

What is eating the Cory's food?
cats? eagles? aliens? the evil clowns that live under the bed? what?

If it's other fish, what are they and what do they get as food.

Throw us a bone here!

Hi triniebeanie :)

If your other fish are eating their food, it probably means they like it and are still hungry. You could just try feeding everyone a little more.

There are also ways to help get the cory's food to the bottom faster. What kind of food do you feed them?

hahah sorry......Aliens!!! yes i belive its aliens LOL

the guppies and the platys, the cory never finds the food right away! so the other fish end up finding it and swarm around it lol I swear the cory doesnt get any ......

the food is nutrafin max sinking complete food tablets

the cory's probably eat some of the flake food they do in my tank, thye like flake more than pellets.

Some cories like to feed at dusk so it may be beneficial to feed them after tank-lights out when the only light is from the room the tank is in.

All my other community fish tuck into the algae wafers that I feed my cories, plecs, loaches

I don't believe there is a way known to science of stopping platies being greedy! I used to feed my cories after lights out but it only took the platies a few weeks to work that one out. Now I drop some flakes in for them and then the cory tablet once they are busy. But it is a constant battle of wits. :D

im sure your corys are getting the food they require.even if you are unable to see them eating they will be.theres always food that drops down to the bottom of the tank that other fish dont get to.unless they are skinny or looking ill i wouldnt worry too much.

Hiya!
Just had the same problem myself with danios eating corys food. I switched from sinking pellets to sinking microgranules - cos the pellets were to large to eat in 1 go, so there was a lot of chewing and spitting out - ample time for raids from danios. As my corys are still young, the microgranules are great cos they get eaten in 1 go. I use tetra microgranules. I feed the danios at the same time - and i found that switching the brand of flake helped too. they like it more so are less likely to go raiding.
And yes, it only took them a couple of nights to work out that dark = dinner. so i'm sticking to all getting fed together. I also bypass the danios by putting the granules into a turkey baster pipette thing and delivering the granules to the bottom of the tank, or they'd just get snapped up on the way down.
I'm sure you'll find a way - it was really upsetting to start off with that the corys weren't getting food, but after a while they realised they had to eat quick!

hold some flakes underwater for 2 seconds then let go; the flakes sink and the cory can hoover them up :)

I wouldn't recommend putting flakes in for the cory because chances are that they will start to rot and stuff before they find it. What size tank is it and how many of each fish do you have?
