They Spawned!

well i got my ct's friday and theyhave already spawned!! i was watching them for about an hour but there was only like 25 or so eggs...is their more than i saw? also the last time he went to squeeze her no eggs came out......i know i have read that they lay many more eggs than 25...thanks for alll yalls help

i got them friday and divided the tank w/ a clear divider.the male loved the female and blew her a nice big bubblenest. i waited an extra day and put her in yesterday afternoon and they spawned this afternoon!

You're kindof supposed to condition them for much, much longer than the few days you've had them... hopefully the fry will be ok, but those certainly are not optimal pre-breeding conditions for the parent fish.

i think people usually condition their fish for about two weeks before they put them in together. NONETHELESS, what's done is done, congratulations and good luck

really the guy said they were already preconditioned b/c he was going to breed them but he got fry from another tank so he sold them...is that ok?i hope so. sry. i have been reading about it for a while and i didn't see preconditioning them twice...

no worries. i mean, you can't take it back anyhow. a lot of breeders probably would have re-conditioned them when they arrived regardless of what the guy said, but it doesn't really matter now. It's a first spawn and a learning experience. chalk it up to "now you know" and make sure you're all set to take care of your new babies

o yea i failed to mention that i got pics !!!here they are...i didn't want to disturb them so i stayed far back w/ the zoom on so they are a little blurry:

if you have already spawned them then i guess they did ok? i would watch them closely let us know when the babies come....
