Just wondering if the digital thermometer that you stick on the outside of the glass are any good. I use the glass spirit thermometer with suction cup, but the suction cup is starting to go.

I have got both, i have purchased a 2nd hand tank, and it came with the digital thermometer, but being a bit weary, i went out and bought the little glass one to go inside the glass, with the suction pad on, and they are exact temperatures with eachother, so i would say either or.... or both...lol I have 2 thermometers on my other tank too, just to be on the safe side ;)

I have one of the sticky ones and well they work for me. The only thing I don't like is that it said on the box that they are reusable, and when I tried to scrape mine off half of it was still stuck on the tank... Not cool, so you can't really move them. From me trying to take that one off, it now doesn't work any more.

Hi..I have both...and LCD thermometer and a Coralife digital thermometer. They correlate so well that I have both on my SW tank as well (back up). FYI..when you buy LCD thermometers at the lfs, make sure that they have good visible color, appear to equal the room temp, and respond rapidly if you heat them in your hand or blow on them.

The LCDs are actually pretty reliable. They are used on patients under general anesthesia to monitor their temperature. SH

Many thanks. I also got one with the tank, but used the glass one thinking they are better. I'll stick it on and use both until the sucker gives up.
Thanks again. :D

I have a digital one which cost £10.00, and a cheap stick on one which cost 99p, the digital one is 1degree © off the stick on one, but i'm putting it down to the cheap manfucture of the stick on one, and the card measurement inside it could easily of slipped.
