In my tank I have a bunch of what I believe to be Java Fern Microsorium. At least that is what I waqs told when I bought it from eBay.
It has been in the tank for a couple of months and looked fine.
I noticed today that there are a few things that seem to be growing from the back of the leaves.
These organisms are spider-like with long, thin arms which are covered in microscopic hairs. They don't look as if they should be there.
Can anyone tell me what they are please?
Thanks
G

WOW!! Some of those things are scary!!

Well it seems like Hydra but it doesn't fit the description fully. I will try to put some photos up.

hi, it sounds like java fern plantlets. when the java fern leaves get older they start to grow baby plants on the underside of the leaves. the roots appear first, which are brown and hairy in appearance and then little leaves. it's nothing to worry about, but it shows that they are older leaves, so you could cut some of the older leaves off to encourage new growth, or if you want to grow on the plantlets, then leave them on. :good:

does it look like this?
