Fish Crazy
I'm so excited!!! I came downstairs this morning and when I turned the lights on and fed the fish, a little tiny baby emerged from the rocks and swam to the top of the water to feed!
I don't know what type he is though, the only fish that has successfully carried babies is the female yellw lab but this little baby one looks a bit like an afra or something. I tried to get a pic but he's too small! he's a sort of greyish colour with little stripes and he's got little dork stripes around the edge of his anal and caudal fins like the afras have. The only thing is, he can't be an afra because the female afra dropped all her eggs.
Would it be possible that the dominant male afra got the lab pregnant, i didn't think that this would be possible but now I come to think of it the only male that dances really is the afra and the only female that ever has eggs is the lab.
Also, now that this baby has appeared and I have fallen in love with him I really don't want him to get eaten. Should I take him out and put him in the fry tank I have with my baby swordtails? The water in there is softer and the Ph is a bit lower. And what do I feed him. He looks too big for liquid food but the pellets I use are way too big for him to eat.
Sorry about the essay but I just have so many questions and I'm so excited!!!!
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
