The Stroy Of The Mystery Fry

Ok, set new tank up this week, got mis-sold two males and one female Platy instead of 2 f and 1 m !

The boys are now fighting so one is going back !

However, watching them feed yesterday I spotted a fry, where'd that come from, only 1 on his own and I don't think the female is at all pregnant? Very strange. Maybe it hitched a lift in the bag from the LFS but I doubt it, maybe it came on the plants but they keep them in a different tank to the fish.

I can't see the fry this morning so he may be eaten/in the pump, who knows, but how strange !

probably did come from the female, the rest either got eaten or are hiding, if you have gravel they hide in there or any plants ornaments

Well, I dont think they are in the plants but could be in the gravel but I can't see any !

The Platys are quite young, about 2.5cm with tails... Not sure what age they can breed from !

they can breed as soon as sexable which is around 6-8 weeks old
