Well as some will know i've been waiting on my partner's tank for around 3-4 months . He was meant to be buying a new one but after someone kicked over his motorbike all the funds had to go towards fixing that . Was in my work last week and my manager was telling me about her sister who was throwing out her 6x2x2 i immediatly said my fella would take it phoned him and yep witha reshuffle of the livingroom and the move of a radiator he'd get it in :D :D so he went and collected it on friday night and gave the woman £50 for it filter heater gravle vac and 2 large statue things .

Saturday night we stayed at his house he had the great job of reinforcing his floor and draining the heating system so he could detach the radiator . I had the Amazing (note sarcasm) job of cleaning the dirty as in not been cleaned in over 6 months algae infested tank ...After boiling the kettle numerous times due to no water! Finally 3 hours later its Clean(er) so we went to bed

Got up next day and he carried on with the heating while i drained the water out of 4 footer and put it in the 6 footer caught all his goldie's moved them into 6 footer . Came home he went back to his to dismatle 4 foot stand build 6 foot stand get tank on it and move all the fish over . I came home rearranged livingroom emptied asmuch as i could out my 42Gallon attached the backing moved it right across the livingroom(thank GOD for laminate :D ) lol filled it all up and waited expectantly on the 4 footer. Finally got it all set up around 10 at night and was to scared to put water in til he checked i had built the stand right . Got sand from argos on monday seeded the filter from my 42G and 17G tank .Transferred over my Black Skirt Tetra's and the Bosemani Rainbow's and Red Rainbow's I'd bought on way back from argos.Stocking to date is in my sig below. Hard to get pics cam is a bit pants so took a wee vid aswell

Sorry for rambling just so pleased :D
:D

Enjoy

He said that its a 4 foot. They are pictures of his friends old 4ft tank that was given to him after his friend bought a 6 ft tank off of some lady. Still not sure where he got 112 gallons from tho.

I'm a female :$ lol on the aquarium calculator above it work's out 112Gallon's 4Ft Length x 1.5 Ft Wide x 3Ft High. May not have explained well enough above but the thank is 4 foot it was my partner's he now has a 6 footer

:D

Those dimensions sound bizarre. Are you sure thats correct? A 3 Ft tall tank? Thats almost unheard of. That would be waist deep water. It would require a wet suit to clean the bottom.

I had a five foot tank that was three feet deep and it was a nightmare to clean. I am also disabled so it made it doubly difficult. I am so glad I changed it for a 6x2x2. It sounds as though you and your boyfriend had a very busy couple of days. Worth it in the end though eh?

Definatly worth it ! Been waiting on it for a few months now.I was very stressed on the day of the move luckily i roped in my little sister and a few of her mates to help ! Took 4 of us to lift the tank off the floor onto the stand ! I managed to squish my sister against the wall in the process :D lol I'll be Stocking it slowly still unsure on what i'm going to keep in it except i know i want a red sev lol .The dimensions are bizarre my partner built it himself the actually dimensions are 49" in length 16 Wide and 37 high but i just round it down lol

:D

YES! while they arent as common as like the 90 gallons and six foot 120 gallons. they are known as 110 tall tanks. I have one for my african cichlids its awesome i picked it up for $70

GREAT looking tank you got set up there tho! :good:

If I could add my 2 cents that arnt based around the dimensions, may I suggest adding a plain coloured background (prefferably black). As this would retain the eye to the tank so you dont look through it, highlighting the fish and decor alot better :)
