Okay so I JUST bought 2 female guppies and one female balloon molly. In my tank I currently have 2 female balloon mollies, 2 female guppies, and 4 ghost shrimp. It is a ten gallon with these dimensions: 18" long, 12" high, 10.5" wide. It has been set up for over 3 and a half years with no chemical problems since the cycling. Unfortunately, I need to buy new testers so I can't tell you the exact water chemical measurements.

One of the guppies I got yesterday looks like she is doing the "shimmy." She seems to wiggle when she is sitting still, but at other times she stops doing it. I think she is pregnant, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. None of my other fish are doing it, though. Is it possible that it is just stress from moving from one tank at the pet store to my tank?

I just fed her and she stopped doing it. I have no idea what it is or if it is even bad...what should I do, if anything?

They do that when they are giving birth but without knowing your water stats, a water quality problem cannot be ruled out.

I get my water tested very frequently. I am going to get testers as soon as I can. But for the past 3 and a half years my chemicals have always been perfect...could it have been stress? And I think she is pregnant, but not sure if she's actually like hours away from having them yet...at least a week maybe.

It's possible it's stress and from the stress she is giving birth early...which may cause the fry to die. Also, is there a large current in your tank? She may be fighting the current? If you could post a video that would be ideal but understand if you're not able to.
