The Rays Are In!

Thats the thing I dont know if they are it could be the birchirs tigs eel or cats. But I do recon its the rays as recently the others have been leaving it.

if i remember right the tank the rays were in were you brought them was a bare bottom tank if this is true the rays are just enjoying the new gravel

when you set the new tank up try to use a much smaller type gravel

cane will know what they were feeding on feed the same until they are settled

everyone panics with new rays as they hear how hard they are to keep

but you have added a few fish lately so test all the water parameters and let us know what they are

amonia has to be 0 or the rays will die fast the same with nitrie
rays can handle a wide range ph from 5.5 to 8.5 but it has to be kept stable with no big changes
nitrate well just keep that as low as possable mine is always 80-100 and the rays bred in that
temp i always keep mine at 84-86

if unsure do a 25% water change rays love new water

Prams are all good mate I went out and bought a new test kit just to make sure.

Nitrate 10
ph 7.5

There both out now swimming now the lights are off and no one is in I recon there just adjusting.

I know but I only did a 30% water change on friday and we have 0 nitrate straight out of the tap which always helps.

mine comes out the tap at 40-50 and is usually about 80 in the ray tank

now you have rays in the tank you will need to do 2 x 25% water changes per week

rays love fresh water and its not just the nitrates you are removing its the heavy organic

rays are not hard to keep but they are alot more work

Cool ill do that then they were both out last night and both out this morning there both buried now as there is alot more activity. Ill be feeding them in about 1 hr so fingers crossed.

what filters are running on the 5x2x2?and whats gonna be running on the big tank?

Currently 1x fluval fx5 and 2 fluval 4+ internals on the big tank well I ordered that on Friday but cancelled the order yesterday new tank will be ordered in October after long conversation with the wife im going to have a beast. Im shutting down one of my tanks putting the cabinet into the crevice where that was which gives me a whole wall and im getting a 96x32x24.
