It only gets to 11 inches, unlike balas and iridescent sharks. And they aren't agressive like red tailed black sharks, and prefer to be kept in schools. Why isn't there a big market for this fish!? You see balas and iridescents all over the place and those things grow to 4 feet and NO ONE they are marketed to has the room for them! But here this fish is...the perfect aquarium shark, it stays small, shoals, and its BEAUTIFUL. Its more beautiful than any freshwater shark I've seen. Heck, its more beautiful than any shark I've seen period.

Anyway...the main point of my post is...I want one. If anyone knows where I can get one, please tell me.

It's not a great deal smaller than ballas, only, like 3" smaller at adult size. Who has the room for a school of 11" fish? Not many people.

In the profile it says they are carnivorous, i take it that they are predatory fish and not scavengers? If so this could be a problem, considering many of the sub tropical fish easily available like many species of danios, corys, tetras and things like hillstream loaches grow to 2-3 or less inches long.
It is a beautiful shark though, but i would be quite sceptical of it with only one profile to go along with...

I'm sorry, I don't see how this is a shark for everyone. If it is anything like the bala in temprament then it is really going to need a 6x2x2 to give it ample room for swimming, just like the bala. The 3" difference is not going to allow it anything less than 6 feet in length.

3 inches makes a big difference when you have to keep them in a school. I believe I was mistaken at first...because I heard bala sharks get alot bigger than 14 inches.

3 inches makes next to no difference in fish this size, shoal or not. You certainly wouldn't be stocking by the inch per gallon rule and the tank requirements (size wise) will be pretty much the same for both species.

I only have a beginners set up at the moment, but I would love to get one of those in a bigger tank one day.
