Hello!

I've been using this forum for a few weeks(?) now and I only just found this! So here I am, better late than never, saying hello!

I'm very new to fishkeeping. After rescuing 2 fantail goldies and a WWCM, I thought to myself 'Hm, I wouldn't mind having a tank...'. So I went and bought another 2 fantail goldies and a 5G from the LFS at their advice  . Sadly, it took me a while to learn about 'better' fishkeeping and one of my goldies died

On a positive note, I have learned, the WWCM has been rehomed to find a more suitable place and the 3 remainder goldies are doing well in their new 160L home. I'm doing a fish-in cycle and monitoring parameteres very closely so there's hope for the remaining fish!

Thank you everyone for their help! It's been very much appreciated! :good:

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum! :good: Sorry you lost one of the goldies. A fish in cycle is difficult. Make sure to test your water daily and don't let the ammonia or nitrites get above 0.25ppm. I see lots of water changes in your future.

Thanks Colleen. I'm sorry I lost him too  I wish I'd known better then... fish-in cycle is not going too bad, thanks. Don't you worry, I test the water religiously twice a day and as close to 12hrs apart as possible if that makes sense! And change water as required :good:

We all make mistakes. The important thing is that you learn from them. Sounds like you have everything under control. Good luck and keep us posted!
