the lady at my fish store wants some info

parrot cichlids! what are they a mix of?! i cant believe i didnt know the answer for her right away so i thought that i would ask all you guys! its not any life or death situation hehe take your time to answer my question cause its going to be friday afternoon when i go back to check out what all they gots!





EDIT*** mix* when i say mix i mean what kind of hybrid fish is it? what two fish are bred together to make it?

They are a mix of the gold severum and a red devil cichlid.....they can either get inherit character traits of both fish, and if the majority falls on the red devil genes then watch out....lol...

the origins are not known 100% there is no proof that blood parrots are gold severum and a red devil cichlid hybrids.

Midas, redhead, Convicts and severums are all rumoured.

there is no proof out there.

I must admit, i thought they were a combo of Midas and Severum. They must be the most mis-treated fish in the hobby, I see far more dyed examples that natural (if natural is the right word)!

BS there is proof out there a japanese scientist is the one that made blood parrots and in his notes he says that they are yellow servrum and red devil

er, that's just proof of how *he* made a blood parrot. there's no telling if the ones in your LFS are the same thing or not.
