Not at all, I keep one in my 10 gallon, along with my great white. They're quite happy, and seem fine with my bi-monthly water changes

Sounds like a nice set-up! But can I recommend that you add a school of red-bellied pirahnas, they are peaceful fish that would really bring out the colours of your great white.
