The King Is Dead

Well my male koi sword passed yesterday due to old age. I've had him 10 months and he was full grown when I got him. ( I think someone returned him to the store). He was a beautiful fish with a big problem. I could not keep any other male livebearers in the same tank. He managed to kill them all off. He was so pretty I just kept a tank of females.
We buried him in the snake plant also known as the fish cemetary. When my daughter feels better we will go get some male platy and move the male guppy and the juvie male sword into the male tank. ( They have been living in the fry tank till now since the king kept chasing them and I didn't want them killed.)
I'll miss the cocky bugger though.

Sorry for your loss, I recently had a 4 year old platy pass away.. I know it can be quite sad

I know its very hard and it can be very devistating for children.

We bury all of our fallen fish, we have a special fishy cemetary too and cover each one with a flower before putting the dirt on top then each grave gets some lavender put on it.

Only when your daughter is ready, go and get a new one.
