well if its 1" per USG, 'us' UK people could have like quite alot more and not be overstocking?

4.5 ish litres = 1 UKG

where as

only 4 litres ish = 1USG

so every 10 uk gallons we should have 11"

so that isnt alot but it builds up

a 100 USG should have 90" worth

and a 100Ukg should have 110" ?!?

or have i just got this confused and my maths out.

note: a US gallon is smaller then a UK gallon, and this rule only applys to thin/small fish i.e 100" of barb
not 100" of shark

:S :/

note if this is just a horible mess of maths ignore me or even better correct me

to be honest it dosnt matter which you use... its only a guide...

We stock to 2" to a gallon... as long as you test your water you'll know whats ok and whats not ;)

its not that important its just one of those thoughts i had, it always seemed to be a taboo to speak against it lol
i know its just a good guideline for noobs to follow

It's far from 'golden' and only really applies to small fish in big tanks.

After all, no one would think a foot long fish in a twelve gallon tank was sensible, would they?
