Hi all

Having followed the fishless cycle pinned on the forum the cycle has now finished on the new tank i have.

Ammonia is 0 and nitrites are 0 as well so all i need to do now is the big water change. I just want to make sure that once ive done the water change i can then add the fish?

Also according to the post i should be ok to fully stock but would it be better to stagger this just in case? I know there will be a spike in ammonia once i add them so i want to reduce this as much as possible.

I think that's it.

Cheers

yes you add stock straight after the water change.

the theroy is that you can stock fully, however personally i don't think you should stock a tank fully until it is mature, so I'd not add more than 70% of your final total.

in theory you shouldn't see an ammonia spike, however you should still check your levels for a few days after adding fish just incase something goes wrong.

Once again Miss Wiggle thank you!! :D I think you deserve a medal for the amount of help you have given me and everyone else!!

I will add them tonight and then let you know how things go.

Me to!!

Luckily 6 of the fish i plan on putting in are either leopard corys or pakistani loaches and i think these both need a more mature tank so they wont be going in just yet anyway.

Im getting really excited now!! Wheres that 'i got the fish bug' post!! i think i need to confess!!

It is well exciting getting the first fish in there.

I just wish my tank would hurry up so I can join in the fun lol

Good luck with them, keep us posted

Aaron
