The Crowntail Boys

here are some pictures of my two boys, Shadow and Pacific. i did post them under the aquarium photos but i figured you betta people who don't venture down there may want to see them .



this is my shadow. he was the first of the two i got when i decided i wanted to get a betta. the people at petco, who are usually pretty knowlegable around here, told me he was pretty young and active, which he is. he loves his pillar bed as you can see in the first picture. he's my baby boy . it took me forever to name him until we realized he was afraid of his own shadow and that's how my pink betta got the name shadow.

this is my big boy, pacific. i went to the my local pet store expecting to get some things to set up my smaller tank for my soon-to-come guppy fry. instead, i fell in love with this guy when my dad showed me him flaring up at another fish, doing exactly the same thing, and he came home along with a tank for him. it was smaller than shadow's when we divided it and pacific kept flaring shadow scaring him so he'd dart around and try to hide behind his dear pillar. he banged into the stones when he got frightened so i decided i had to put them in two seperate tanks. i don't think his name needs explaining - he's pacific blue . i tried taking a picture with the flash off but you couldn't see all of his gorgeous colors that way.

thanks . i can't get any good pictures of shadow though. he's so light and the flash makes him look terrible and the lighting in my room just doesn't go with where i put them .

WOW THANK GOD YOU PICKED THOSE 2 UP...they are simply gorgeous!!! Nie grab on the 2 and I wish my betta would enjoy and appreciate HIS ornaments

thanks! it was funny when i got pacific. my dad showed him to me and i go "i'm not passing this guy up. he's coming home." with shadow, i was actually debating between him and one sort of the color as pacific, but not quite as vibrant. when i was told shadow was younger, i decided he was a closer choice. i looked the rest of them over and realized how unique he was and had to get him. i love unique animals, the horse i leased three years ago was a big dun with a white face and four white legs with one light blue and one dark blue eye .

thanks . shadow is a sweetheart, i walk into the room and he swims right over to the front of the tank, watching whatever i'm doing. -sigh- i wanna take him with me everywhere. if only it was possible to put a fish on a leash and have it swim in the air beside you...

Oh wow!! Take a look at the rays on pacific, you don't see 4 rayed crowntails very often!! He's something special! And Shadow is adorable as well
