New mystery in my tank. One of my male guppies literally disappeared 2 days ago. I can't find him anywhere. After being gone 48+ hours I assume that he is dead, but after a fairly thorough searching of the tank I can't find his body anywhere! Anyone else ever have this happen? I can't find even bones-and I looked in the filter, the gravel, the plants, everything!

Should I be concerned about the health of my other fish? Is there anything that I can do, short of draining the whole tank, to protect the others? He hadn't been showing signs of illness, so I'm not sure what happened. I would rack it up to old age except for the fact that about 10 days ago I lost my 3 platies (also with no warning signs).

The water chem is fine, so I'm not sure what is going on, but since I haven't been able to find and remove the body I just want to know if there is need for extra concern?

the only thing i can think of mate is they have jumped out of your tank???

part from that the only thing i can think and this is FAR FAR out, your water is so acidic that they have been fried and the bones disintigrated...

ok try my first idea, HTH

hahaha-fish fry!

I thought of jumping-but my tank is fully covered. Even so I searched the general area and can't find him! I figured he must have been eaten, but wouldn't I find...well....SOMETHING?

i have heard stories of fishes disappearing for more than 3 days and having found them in HOB filter chillin...

i have 3 possibel explainations.

> he jumped out and hoped far away from ur tank (has happend to me)

> died and was promptly consumed by ur other fish

> Aliens visited ur home and desided to take ur fish considering it would be much cool than takeing you ( now this is far out there )
