after about a year of rest from marine i have decided to go back to tropical. i have an aqua 320 which is 28 liters (just under 6 gal) i want some realy nice colourful fish in there but i am aware of over crowding has anyone got any ideas on nice fish to keep in there what are colourful.
thanks here is what it loks like so far i got the gravel and the slate from my back garden and boiled them in boiing hot water then ran cold water ober them to kill any bacteria.
theplant at the back left corner is artificial the plant wrapped around the slate is some java fern and the plant in the piddle of the tank is some floating plant but you can also bury it as it grows roots. the filter is the smallest filter ever made by man and that isnt a joke it was on the box i bought it in lol. it is 4 inches tall with a 1 inch width but can supprisingly mannage 100gph

i was thinking a better but i have alrady had those and want something new. i tried breeding bettas which was successful up until the egg part. he had his buble nest and he squeesed her and i seen the eggs come out he and she would collect them and put them into a bubble but then no fry which i dont understand. lol
anyway i was thinkin a few endlers would that be ok. i have also seen gouramis what grow to 3cm when they are at adult size but i cannot think of the name. i wouldnt mind a few of them.
thanks for your oppinion

Sounds like you've thought of some reasonable options :)

thanks for any replies

looks good :good:

A small group of endlers with a couple of sparkling gouramis and maybe a few shrimp would be nice :)

yeh mabee that sounds realy nice. i am going for a realy natural look to immotate the habbitat of the fish like a gentally flowwing river so i probably wont be adding much more plants.
if anyone has any other suggestions please post them

ya a couple dwarf gourimi's and a couple endlers would look great. maybe stand a bit of slate up to hide the Heater. also higher objects in a tank make it look bigger. more plants thou defo

do you think so about the plants. i was just going to let them grow and see what happens that java fern can get quite messy. i will see what happens aftr about a week of cyceling. thanks for the info
keep it coming

today i robbed some baby java fern from my sisters tank  lol. one plant is only small and has 3 leaves and the other is a bit more developped with a whole cluster of leaves. i jammed them into the slates at the back of my tank i am not going to put any more plants in there for 1 reason and i dont even know if this is right. without the fish in there there is not that much of Co2 going round so the plants will not grow very well. am i right haha.
thanks for your comments if anyone has any ideas on what fish i should put in there apart from bettas please post them
thanks again

Java fern will grow fine without Co2, it'll really begin developing once your fish are introduced and you get a steady flow of nitrate.

so could i put moreplants in there ad they will continue to grow but at a slower rate and thy wont die.here is a pic of what the tak looks like aout 2 mins ago lol

You can cram loads of plants in there! My Shrimp tank is about the same size as your tank and is full of plants. Thats how I have hidden my heater and filter.

I can definatly recommend dwarf shrimp for a small tank, especially if you want to breed them. They are probably the easiest thing to breed since Guppys... Just add water and babies appear!
