This lady at petco was telling me about how to take care of Betta fish :/ Anyway she said buy one of these, and it was a tank the size of my fist! I said whatever, It made me so mad and it was like $20.99 for it! It had a little light attached but it was smaller than Betta cups the Betta fish get sold in!

I think I saw one of those before. Is it the one with the LED light at the top?

As far as the lady goes...just nod and be polite.

Thats what I did. I do not know if it was led or not, Evan if I knew NOTHING about Betta fish I would not buy that for my fish.

Danno I did not get a new Betta today... :look:
Yes I did a water change today :good:

The ignorance of lps workers can be very disheartening. I wish that local chains actually trained their workers! Although, I think the customer is sometimes the one who needs the training. When I worked at a lps, I heard the most rediculous things, especially from people who knew nothing about betta care. :/

When I bought Royal and Chance there they did not evan give me a caresheet! I did not need one but that is not really that piont..

thats why its good to know about your fish before you go, i went to petsmart to pick up some little corys a few days ago, and the girl said "okay" and bagged them. Didnt give any information at all, she didnt even care if i were to put them in a 1 gal.

The lady was showing me the different tail types and saying that the VTs that she called just Bettas where her favorate, and then she showed me that tiny thing. Never gave me a care sheet or nothing!

LOL!! I have a friend who works at Petsmart! She often comes to me for care tips with Kai and Camo (gerbil and leopard gecko respectively); now she's been intently questioning me on my care for my fish, especially Othello. She loves animals i know, she keeps alot of pets, but never a lizard and never fish, so she often asks for help when it comes to me caring for them.

It heartens me to know that she's curious about thier care. <3

Its too bad most people who work there dont give a damn. Pardon my french.

I'm trying to land a job at Petco or Petsmart; that would be excellent.

The people they hire there can't read minds; or maybe they can, must be why i haven't been hired. But they are trained to sell and briefly educate the buyer on specific fish upon purchase. Aside from selling lame products (which is Petco's fault), i don't think the lady there did anything that she wasn't supposed to do FTB. If i worked there I'd have likely done the same, maybe not suggest the bio-orb though.

And if anyone needed information that was not provided by a store clerk; its called "asking". :good: Unless the fish being sold were aggressive or required some kind of specific care (which cory catfish do not), i would expect the buyer to have common sense and already know what he/she is getting themselves into. Though i suppose having common sense is a little more than one can expect from most people.
