That Awkward Moment....

so my crayfish's babies just started roaming a little while ago and so i didnt cover the filter intake this time, and there was no plants leading to it or near it so there is really no way for them to get in. well.. i was wrong and i checked it and there was a blob of babies on the cartridge. and so i saved them. all were living other than 5 dead.

The temptation to not mess with filter covers is huge, they're a pain to maintain covered up half of the time so I hate doing it too.

its not really keeping it covered that bothers me, because once its done the babies keep the netting clean, its the fact of turing off the filter and putting it on. i dont know why but i just dont like doing it. i do the same for my guppy breeding tank:
