Hey all, I'm a member on Petfish, Aquatopia, and Ultimatebettas, so I found this site through petfish and figured I'd sign up to see what kind of new info I can garner from here! :D

I have 14 Bettas, 12 veils and 2 crowntails. I also have four zebra stripe danios cycling my five gallon minibow. I have 14 occupied tanks, and one fishless cycle running in a 5.5 gallon. I'm also currently battling cotton fin fungus on two of my bettas who share a divided tank.

I'm in college studying to be a history teacher, currently I have one horse, two cats, one dog, and all 18 of my fish! LOL! I'm an animal lover, as you can tell. My current ambition is to have a pet hamster in the upcoming months.

Anyways! Just thought I'd drop in and say hi, I'm currently very sick with a viral upper respiratory infection and viral laryngitis, so I'm spending my time online and writing a paper that's due on Thursday!

:hi: to the forum. Glad to see you found your way here.

Wow, quite a collection of animals you've got there. :p *jealous* I take it you are either a commuter or go home frequently to see your little ones, if not your family. :D

As for your collection of fish... the list pretty much ensures that you'll be frequenting the betta forum on here. :p

How many of the fish are with you at college? Also, you might want to post in the beginner forum about the zebra danio ("stripes" is unnecessary, since the spotted variety is called "leopard" [there are, of course other varieties, but this is the only one, IMO, that can be easily confused witht he zebras]) since I see some problems with it and don't wish to spoil your intro with 'em.

Anyways, glad to have you with us. :D

*EDIT* Ach! Totally forgot. Can't find hakko, but "hakkou" = luminescnece/ white light in Japanese, was that what your name was supposed to mean--luminescent betta? ^^

Yeah, I do go home quite often to see my animals. My fish, sans one male VT at home, are here with me at school. My danios are actually just going to be used for the cycle. I've already found them some really good adopted homes on the hall for some girls who are wanting to start up some small 5 gallon aquariums. I change a quarter of their water every other day when ammonia first starts showing up.

Other than that though, they're really healthy, hardy little boys. They loooovveee to eat too, they make me giggle because when I stick my hand in to test the water they nibble on my fingers. Hungry little hippos... I'll post and ask some more questions though, they're great little guys, I don't wanna do anything wrong with them.

I'm actually cleaning tanks right now...I have three half-gallons I have to change daily.

:fun:

I never knew that hakkou meant "illuminated" lol. It actually stands for the first five bettas that I got: Haruki Amarante Kaida Kumi Oki. I use a lot of Japanese names because they're asian tropical fish, so many of my boys sport fancy flowery names  I might have to start using that explanation though, it rocks!

Lol! I wouldn't call myself that experienced, I just found out today that my female is a plakat, not a veiltail!! LOL! :D

Hi hakkobetta :hi: to the forum, hows the sore throut and runny nose :D hope your well with all those tanks to clean the fish need you :)
