texas X parrot

i was at petsmart in the states today and there was a texas X parrot in one of their tanks with like 200 fry... and another 'female' in another tank with like 100 fry.

the guy at petsmart wouldnt sell either to me though.. i was so stoked to find a texas X parrot... but the guy needs entertainment at work and wouldnt sell me it..

was really considering asking for the manager to see if hed sell it to me..

i dont see why they would refuse selling me a fish because it has babies.. just seemed really annoying.. the guy was a dufus about it to... he told me he would come back and help me, then decided to help 4 other people and waste like 20 mins of my time..

thats my 'anger' rant for today

i think its store policy; everytime i see non-livebearers with fry at a Petsmart, they've got up "Fish Under Observation" signs. (and as there are 8 petsmarts/petcos between university and home, i look at a lot of stores!)

that just sealed their fate.. wont be going there anymore

why? i bet if you ask nicely, you can have it once the fry get bigger. or just pop in every week or so to see if you can get it yet... B) patience, young grasshopper, patience!

i live in canada... petsmart is in the states.. i go there every 8 months to a year

but now i can see why you were so irritated about not being able to buy it... i agree; that would have been frustrating.

i go all the way down there, and they had basically nothing i wanted... very annoying..

i did end up buying a few things just for fun

im not driving down there every month for more disappointments..

i ended up buying 2 jewels and 10 ghost shrimp..

1 of the jewels has severe fin rot and fungus.. THANKS A LOT PETSMART!!

its hard when all the fish become totally colorless when the girl at the store terrorizes them while she tries to catch them..

i think it will be ok.. its not that bad... will separate it and hope for the best

but guess what i found today.. LIL JELLYBEANS!

hip hip hooray!... marked as pink convicts, but their stumpy round bodies lead me to believe they are lil jellybeans.. and $5 each!... picked up 4... 3 males 1 female..

also picked up a 33g tank, a fluval 3plus and a 2plus

getting a 40g plexi also next week hopefully

time to get rid of small tanks and get the breeding going
