well that sounds about right for a texas, they can get quite big and should probably be housed alone in a 75. but i fyou really feel the need to get rid of him try and find a lfs around you that would be willing to take him back, by no means should you release him into local waterways or kill him
Oh yea it's okay too release a guppy to its doom but not a cichlid .... HMPH !!! don't do it honestly ...see if you can post it on AB if you want or trade it too a lfs
First off that tank is extremely overstocked. Large cichlids, bala sharks and pike should never be kept in a 30 gallon, especially together. It is obvious that the lack of territory is bringing out the aggression in your texas. If I were you I'd thin it out a bit by getting rid of The JDs, the texas and the bala. The tiger barbs would be eaten by them anyway when they get bigger. The cons can stay, as can the plec but I dunno about the pike...
