can anybody who uses tetratec ex1200 external filtrer tell me does the filter itself hide away in the cabinet undr tank , does it have an air pump to airate water or would i need an air stone or simmilar

Yes mine fits in the cabinet perfectly (Rio 300), No it dosent come with a airpump as it isnt a airpowered filteR?. And it comes with a spraybar you can aim at the surface so you wont need a airpump.

As above realy, mine fits in the cabinet fine (also a Rio 300), and my spray bar is positioned above the surface, so that air is beaten into the water at the surface. This action is actualy, in the view of many, more effective than air pumps You can have an air pump if you want, but it would only be for decoration The spray bar can be positioned below the surface if you are growing plants also
