Tetras

Hi there. I have 6 neon tetras, 8 black phantom tetras and 5 x ray tetras all in the same tank. I have heard that they are best kept in shoals of 10 plus. does this mean i need to top each variety up to ten or will they all mix and shoal as one? Probably a silly question but i really dont have a clue!

How big is your tank that you're keeping them in?

Its 31 gallons

Well it could be over stocked to have 10 of each. I have 4 x-ray tetras and they have been living for a long time in my tank. You could add about 2-3 more tetras but you want to give all the tetras some extra gallons . All the schools you have are fine but you should add another x-ray.
