Tetramycin tablet can be used as a good plant fertilizer. My plant shop guy told me to add one third of one tablet in the tank and it will do wonders for the plant. Well leave wonders apart I just want to know whether it is really viable? I have two apples and seven barbs and I m in a slow cycle. I want to know whether there can be any bad effects on the fish?

Please don't use antibiotics as a plant food.

Lol don't they give you that in the US for flu and infections?

Widespread use of antibiotics has already meant that many life saving antibiotics are now useless due to resistant strains appearing. Show a bit of sense and dont put more antibiotics in the water system. It might be in your tank now, but then it goes where the rest of the waste water goes, dont know where this is in your country but its bound to upset some ecosystem or other, possibly cause allergies as well as making resistant strains of bacteria multiply.
I really cant see how it helps the plants though, can you? Have you got the name right? Is tetramycin anything like oxytetracycline?

Is this what you mean?

If it is, please read advice about drug resistant strains and side effects on this page.

I think the OP is referring to Tetracycline which is dispensed under the brand name Tetramycin.
