Im treating my tank with tetracycline, i just put the first dose in last night. The package does not say anything about doing a water change before doses. Am I supposed to do that or leave the tank go for the 5 days then do the water change like it says, I dont have any carbon in my filter if that makes a difference or not for the water changes.

If the tank was due to be changed in the next day or so and you do changes fortnightly any sensitve fish MAY have a problem, but if you do changes weekly and the change was supposed to fall sometime in the period of treatment you should be fine

Well i have had the carbon out of the tank and was doing daily water changes because i was using fungus medicaiton. That didnt seem to be working so i posted about using tetracycline and started using that. So i was thinking that since i was told it wipes out my filter bios, that if i didnt change it that my ammonia and nitrate levels would become deadly.

I added my second dose last night and i didnt do a water change. My fish are swimming around a bit fast, so im not sure if thats from the medication or if i really do need to do a water change.

Are they still swimming fast, it happens when you first add a med some times.
