Tetra Florasticks

This might sound daft but...

Can i put tetra FloraSticks inbetween matting in my filter so they dissolve and get distributed around the tank?

I dont know much about that brand. Are they whiteish? Most of the root tabs will make your water cloudy if not burried in the substrate, so it probably isn't a good thing to do.

And root tabs also contain high levels of iron. If it gets into the water column, your tank water will contain REALLY high levels of iron, thus causing algae, or maybe even killing your fish.
