Hi,

Just got back from my LFS and ive noticed one of my newley purchased Tetra's has lost one of it's eyes. Will the fish survive or will it get ill etc?

Thanks for any help.

Darren

Fish can survive with one eye.
Need to look at your tank how many gallons or litres it it.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.

Hi,

My tank is an Aqua Start 500 and has:

- 1 Platy
- 3 White Cloud Mountain Minnows
- 5 Blue Tetras
- 1 Golden Danio

The tank is 65 litres around 14 gallons.

All tests are showing as fine (have an API Test Kit). The fish lost its eye most likley in the LFS i didnt check them over when purchased and only noticed when placing it in the tank.

Also could you advise if my tank would be ok to add 3 Oto's? Also maybe another platy?

Thanks.

Tanks all ready getting to its full stock, it up to you.
Not sure if you have to keep danio in a group.
Butif you do add them fish thats it i'm afraid.

Ok, thanks for your help. Il consider getting some otos and maybe placing the danio and platy in another tank to make sure it dont get over stocked.

Thanks :)

Ok, good luck.
Research the oto very sensitive to water quality, and need a good diet.

Will do thanks very much for you help. One last thing would there be a better algee eating type fish that would suit my tank as i know oto's dont get to big like pleco's do which is why ive been looking at them.

Thanks once again

I know oto like you say are ideal for your tank size.
I Had pit bull plecs they stay small, ask in tropical chit chat, get alot of advice over there, good luck.
